New York Mets multi-billionaire owner Steve Cohen shocked the baseball world on Wednesday morning, announcing that he had reached a deal with agent Scott Boras to sign Carlos Correa, free-agent infielder. Cohen dropped another $300+M to bring his annual payroll to nearly $400M. His luxury tax of $111M is higher than the payroll of 10 other MLB clubs.
He has nothing wrong, playing within the rules of the game. Is this good for baseball?
That’s another story all together. I explain in my latest episode.
